Surgically Clean Air
As patient safety is our utmost priority, we have taken progressive measures to sterilize the airflow in our office and to improve the office’s air quality. We installed a medical-grade air filtration system, Surgically Clean Air, to reduce the spread of microbial pollutants, toxins and air-borne pathogens at our practice. Our office cares deeply about our patient’s health, and will continue to install more systems that promote more safety in our office environment.
Digital X-Rays
At North End Dental Care, the technology we choose must accomplish two things; it must contribute to your safety and comfort, and it must help us improve treatment outcomes for you.
Digital dental x-rays at our Manchester, NH dental office are an example of a technology we use that does both. Digital x-rays allow us to improve your comfort and safety and enable us to diagnose oral health problems with a high degree of accuracy. Since they reduce your radiation exposure by as much as 80 percent, digital x-rays are also safer for you than film x-rays.
Our dentists also use the digital x-ray images to show you a detailed view of what is happening inside your teeth. We believe in the importance of patient education, and seeing the problem for yourself allows you to make informed, confident treatment decisions for you and your family.
Intraoral Cameras
We understand that it can be frustrating to sit in the dental chair as your dentist performs an exam and have no clue what they see. It is for this reason that Dr. Moriarty has invested in intraoral cameras at our Manchester, NH dental office.
This small handheld digital camera illuminates your mouth and captures high-resolution images of your teeth that are displayed in real-time on your chairside monitor. Dr. Moriarty can easily point out areas of concern, and you can discuss them together. He will explain why treatment is necessary and the consequences of delaying it. You always have the final say in the direction of your treatment, and intraoral cameras provide the information you need to feel confident and informed about your oral needs.
Panoramic X-Rays
We take individual x-rays as needed to monitor your oral health and diagnose conditions like tooth decay and gum disease as required. Sometimes, however, Dr. Moriarty needs to take an x-ray that shows him all your upper, lower teeth and jaw bone in a single image. The information we obtain through panoramic x-rays is invaluable for planning dental treatments like root canals, tooth extraction, TMJ treatment, implant placement, and Invisalign clear braces.
Panoramic x-rays are extraoral, which means they are taken outside of your mouth. Taking a panoramic x-ray is easy; all you need to do is stand still in front of the x-ray unit as it rotates in a semi-circle around your head. We also use panoramic x-rays for children and adults who can’t tolerate intraoral x-rays, as well as patients with special needs.
CariVu Cavity Detection System
Many of our patients are understandably concerned about their radiation exposure and the number of x-rays we need to take. While they are an invaluable tool for diagnostics and planning certain procedures, we also offer you the option of detecting cavities without the need for digital x-rays.
We use the CariVu cavity detection system that helps Dr. Moriarty detect cavities or cracks in your teeth using LED illumination. As we view the image together, you will be able to see and understand why we recommend treatment and how it will help you.
Since CariVu uses non-ionizing radiation, it is excellent for those who can’t tolerate x-rays, including children, pregnant women, and patients with special needs.
Digital Records
In an effort to streamline your dental visits, we utilize digital records that contain your dental history and all other information that’s pertinent to your dental care. Digitized records stored on our secure in-house system make it easy to retrieve your information when we are planning treatment or monitoring ongoing conditions.
With your permission, we can also easily transmit digital records to specialists and to your insurance company as needed.
